As part of our mission to increase who has the chance to access and benefit from a world class tech education, Lambda School is partnering with Jessica Livingston, one of the co-founders of Y Combinator, to help 40 women from across the US learn to program over the summer - for free.
Jessica will be personally giving $9,000 to 40 women to cover their living expenses while they take the full time 15 week Lambda School Summers Hackers Program.
Lambda School will be waiving the normal $12,000 tuition fee for this program for all 40 women.
This 15 week program teaches online programming - and requires no prior experience.
The curriculum overview is listed above. A more detailed syllabus will be available to accepted students.
The program is open to any woman who is living in the US.
We use inclusive definitions of "women" and "female" and welcome trans women, genderqueer women, and non-binary people who are female-identified.
No - the selected 40 recipients will receive this scholarship from Jessica & Lambda School completely free of charge and with no ongoing obligations to Lambda School.
This Scholarship is valued at $21,000 per person.
No. Like all the Lambda School courses, the Summer Hackers Program is an on-line, remote course.

It will run from May 28th to September 3rd.
No - because of her experience as the co-founder of Y Combinator, Jessica is motivated to invest in these women alongside Lambda School - she believes that helping more women have a greater technical fluency will help them become, and then succeed, as founders.
But the program is open to all women in the US.
No, this is partnership between Jessica Livingston personally and Lambda School.
Yes and yes
No, that is a program only offered to full time Lambda School graduates.
